Can you believe it’s already almost Valentine’s Day?? This year the holiday completely snuck up on me and I found myself scrambling at the last minute to come up with the perfect treats for Nugget and Goose to exchange with their friends, classmates and teachers. I started out looking for an idea online but this time Pinterest left me hanging. I didn’t want to do the same old candy gift, and honestly who needs more toys?! Fortunately I was able to come up with a few ideas of my own. Best of all, I had nearly everything I needed on hand already! Keep reading to see how they turned out and get the link to download your own Free Valentine’s Day Cards & Tags!
I’m Bananas About You!
With all of the food allergies out there, (not to mention childhood obesity!) the last thing most kids need is more candy, but what are some healthy alternatives that you could send in to your child’s class for Valentine’s Day? I thought that banana chips would be perfect, and this cute monkey tag completes the package!
Out of All the Fish in the Sea …
Here’s another easy bag topper. Just like the banana chips above, all you have to do is fill a cellophane treat bag (I like these from Wilton!) then trim and fold your bag topper. I envisioned using these with some goldfish crackers but if you have a sweet tooth they would work great with Swedish fish.
What About the Teachers?
The flu is crazy this year! Every time I turn on the news it’s more bad news about the flu. That’s why I decided to pick a practical gift for our teachers – hand soap! Anyone who spends their day wiping noses in a preschool classroom NEEDS all the soap they can get!
If I’m being honest, I would have been on board with handing out bottles of Lysol … but what clever puns can you come up with for that? (If you think of one share it in the comments!)
A Nonfood Option for Kids
So many kids have allergies these days. I don’t know what’s causing it but I never remember it being this way when I was a kid. It feels like every day there’s a new ‘don’t’ on our class food safety list. If trying to comply with food safety stresses you out then play it safe with these fun and easy bubble wands! Just print the tags and tie them on with a pretty ribbon and your child will be the star of their class. Everyone loves bubbles!
(And here’s another option that’s a little less feminine 😉
